I’m a knitter, artist, and full-time professional freelance writer.
A life-long city girl, I lived in Seattle for 15 years before moving to a cabin in the woods outside La Conner in 2006. Living in the middle of nowhere was a big adjustment. Now, I wouldn’t trade it for anything else!
In addition to knitting for myself and my friends and family, I also knit for charity, art shows, and local competitions. Some highlights include:
- On a whim one night, I knit the Treesweater. This generated a cascade of opportunities and amazing experiences, including being interviewed by Kerrang! Radio, and being asked to contribute a pattern to the book Yarn Bombing.
- In 2010 I won a blue AND a red ribbon in the county fair’s knitting division. (What exactly are you supposed to do with these ribbons?)
- Entered a hand-knit art hat in the 2011 La Conner Cash Cow Days art/charity drive.
- Publishing my own knitting zine, which you can order online.
