I pre-ordered the Into the Future expansion pack ages ago, which made it a nice surprise for this week. Into the Future lets you travel to a town called Oasis Landing which exists in the future.
This huge shiny time travel portal appeared in the front yard.
“That’s funny, I don’t remember a time portal being here.”
I sent Shanita through the portal first, since I care about her the least.
Basically, the future looks like the Star Trek reboot.
There are spiffy new robots everywhere.
And Blade Runner-style flying cars.
Futuristic pool tables.
A weird floating holographic pet/toy thingie.
And a floor-mounted Holophonor.
You can meet your family’s descendants and see how they are doing. The Alphabettis in this future are rated “moderately poor.”
This guy’s a cutie, though!
There’s a community center where your Sims can stay, if you decide not to buy property. Only problem being, I couldn’t figure out where the food came from.
Eventually Shanita figured it out on her own.
That thing is a food replicator!
It made her a… sphere… which she ate for breakfast.
Once she was fed and bathed and feeling a bit better, I sent Shanita over to meet one of the new bots.
One thing I like about the new bots is that, unlike the original Plumbots, your Sims don’t get the “Oh no! A bot!” reaction every time they see one. That’s why I quit playing with Plumbots… it grew tiresome.
Obviously since it was an interesting new lifeform, I tried to make out with it.
It didn’t go over well.
Eventually I got tired of the normal future (you can also create a dystopian and a utopian future… guess which one I want) and sent Shanita back to the present.
Where I promptly spent all their money remodeling their kitchen and installing a new food replicator.
Although it only makes bad-quality food, and it tends to spray water on whoever uses it. Learning curve!
Shanita came home just in time for her birthday to Elder.
Is that the worst fake smile you’ve ever seen, or what?
“Yay, I am about to turn really old. Hooray.”
