Spinning Progress

I’m finding that spinning is one of those things I have to do in large chunks of time, or else it’s not worth doing at all. There are some things that are like that (writing is one). Things where you get less done in four 15-minute chunks than you would in a single hour-long block.

This may be partly to blame for why I gave it up the first time through. I had been trying to devote at least 10 minutes to it a day. But the first 10 minutes are the hardest part. Once I warm up and get into the swing of it, it goes so much faster.

In fact, once I get started, it’s hard to stop at just an hour. Although by the two hour mark, my hands are quite tired.

  • What gorgeous fiber!
I used to use my spindle in short bursts, which let me take advantage of those little chunks of 10 to 15 minutes between other stuff. I’d been at it a while by that time, though. (I gave my spindle to my daughter when I taught her to spin, though, so now I’m spindleless…)
