Winter came to Monte Vista. Little Autumn slept outside in the snow and dreamed of roasted turkeys.

Her mother was smart enough to stay inside and think about… disco?

Which is funny because I recently bought the “70s, 80s, and 90s Style” Stuff Pack and it is AWESOME.
Their pool didn’t freeze over, even though the temperatures stayed in the single digits for several days in a row. I guess it’s heated. I should have sent someone out there to swim, just to be cruel. (Maybe next winter!)

Nostromo has the Virtuoso trait, and I thought I would probably choose a music-related Lifetime Wish for her. I started her out on the drums. While the weather was bad, she had ample time to stay inside and practice.

What household is complete without a teenager practicing the drums all day long?
I celebrated Snowflake Day properly this time around, by holding a Gift-Giving Party. When the party starts, the game gives you a big pile of presents. As the guests arrive, they add their gifts to the pile.

When the pile is full, everyone takes a gift one by one. Most Sims are happy for their gifts. (The gifts seem to be trait-related; for example a Sim with the Logic skill will get a chess set, while a Sim with the Artistic skill will often get a painting easel.)

But there’s always someone who gets a lousy gift.

That night after the party, Death came for mama dog.

Everyone was sad, including her puppy (far left).

And she’s so liiiiittle!

Nostromo developed quite a knack for cooking waffles. Sims seem to eat a lot of waffles. It makes me want waffles. Mmm, waffles.

I took Gayle’s suggestion and gave her yellow eyeshadow. What a sour face!

Although to be fair, she’s thinking about homework.

When it was time for her to grow up into a Young Adult, the party was pretty rockin’. The guests brought lots of food, which I always love.

From left to right: Lobster Thermidor, omelettes, and a roasted turkey. Don’t you wish someone would bring a roasted turkey to your birthday party?
Nostromo’s mother showed up (on the right).

That’s right: her mother. No, I don’t know how that works, either. But that’s how the game characterizes her relationship to Nostromo: “Mother.”
So many people showed up that I couldn’t get them all in frame.

Two random Sims died at the party. After taking their souls, the Grim Reaper stuck around to make a snowman.

Pity he didn’t finish it, though.
Since Nostromo is going to be all rock-star-y, I gave her a rock-star-y retro 80s outfit.

Death came for Walnut. Death has been showing up a lot lately.

And finally, Autumn grew up into a dog. A really weird-looking dog.

That face!

And yes, her ear flaps always stick out like that. HILARIOUS.

Are you ready for the sims 3 university in march? Exciting!
FSM, it’s like someone took a three-year-old’s drawing of a dog and brought it to hideous, terrifying life!
Note to self: never breed an ugly poodle with an ugly hound.
My dog has one stick out ear and one down, the paperwork we were given described her as “deformed” huh?
I love that the new dog still has two color eyes.
