Sideways Garter Stitch Scarf

I probably ought to write up a post about the finished Rambling Rows afghan. But I’ll be honest with you: I’m sick of talking about it. It’s done, I like it, I’ve been using it, the end.

Strangely, it’s like I can’t stop knitting garter stitch. My hands fell into this rut where they will churn out miles of the stuff without me even noticing. This seemed like a good time for a sideways garter stitch scarf.

Last time when I asked for suggestions for the cast on method, Ish’l suggested the German Twisted cast on and Karen M suggested the Old Norwegian cast on. After doing some research, it turns out that those are both the same cast on method which goes by two different names. It seemed like fate, so that is what I used.

Counting to 300 is beyond me at times. I cheated by setting a stitch marker after every 50 stitches. It only took me two episodes of Mad Men, which wasn’t too bad I suppose.
