Once upon a time there was a princess, except one day she died, and then later she came back as if nothing had happened because The Sims 3 is a seriously glitchy game y’all.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Idris and Titanium (I renamed the horse Titanium, it seemed more noble) spent most of her teen years practicing their jumping.

I bought them harder jumps, which they eventually learned to clear.

Well… mostly.

Idris also worked on her martial arts skills. Because every good princess should know martial arts.

They had one last family dinner, before everything went all “kablooey.”

Idris and her sister Infinity graduated from high school. Upon graduation, Idris had a wish to “become a firefighter.” I found this utterly charming, and granted her wish.
P.S. you can ride a horse straight into the firehouse, if you want.

After the graduation ceremonies, the whole family joined a protest outside City Hall. Protesting… bugs? I guess?

And that was the last time that I saw her.
I exited the game a few minutes later, after clicking to send her home. The next time I fired up the game, Idris and Bella Goth were both missing from the family. And I had a notice from the game that Idris’s Motive Mobile was “sold due to Sim death.”
But I couldn’t find any urns, I hadn’t heard the “death march” music, and none of the surviving Alphabettis had the “death of a loved one” bad moodlet.
However, I did find the maid like this. Which was unsettling.

And I found this ugly wild horse asleep in the middle of the road, dreaming about funeral urns.

Reminder, people: back up your games. I’m going to start backing it up weekly. My last backup was three weeks old, and I wasn’t willing to lose that much time.
I just decided that, well, this is why I always have a Spare Heir in the first place. And I promoted Infinity to the role of princess.

I don’t think she’s very happy about it. (I chuckle every time I look at this picture.)

Aw! Cheer up, darling! You’re the princess now!

Once upon a time there was a princess who was not very good at it. Her riding skills were sloppy at best.
And since she had no cooking skill, she ate ice cream and cereal for every meal.

Also, her dad Hart turned old and creepy.

Once I had started to warm up to the idea of Infinity as princess, guess what? Idris came back to life! Her thumbnail appeared on the left-hand side of the screen. I clicked it and found her leaving someone’s house, presumably after putting out a fire.

“Shut up baby I know it.”
Idris did pretty well as a firefighter. She spent her entire first week at the fire station, due to her long hours. When she slept, she dreamed of fire…

And of her horsey.

By day, she maintained and upgraded the fire truck.

Let’s do something a little different this time! Who do you think should be the heir, wear the title of princess, and inherit the Alphabetti fortune? Vote in the poll below (click here if you can’t see it). Results will be announced Monday evening.

Because really, what’s royall-er than a a lady-bug hating, firefighting equestrienne?
(BTW, WHAT is up with her face in the second jumping shot? Sorta interesting…)
I voted for Infinity, because Idris clearly has her vocation all sorted, and because it will be funny that Infinity is so crap at everything
hahahahahaha b/c that is my usual thought about sims sunday
Why plaster a miniature horse on her face when jumping …..huh
i had to triple check that too sims…wtf
Idris seems more suitable, very fiona like with the martial arts and mad jumping skills. Too bad you can’t have them fight to the death or something. Get them mad at each other, have a fight and keep the winner.Or whichever can get married first. Or chess…always chess
Gabes has it – it’s an icon that tells you she’s learning the Jumping skill. I hate the placement!
You can’t have them fight to the death, but you can have them fight, and there’s usually a clear winner.
My protection against glitches is to keep two saves of the game. I alternate saving to each file. It’s worked so far, but I dread the day when a glitch carries over to both.
