Sims Sunday: Triplet Time

I enjoyed the hell out of my “Day of Sloth” yesterday. In addition to playing Sims 3 off and on for most of the day, I both slept in AND took a nap, painted my fingernails then decided I didn’t like the color and removed it, and read an entire magazine cover-to-cover. It was glorious.

I’m mentally starting to pack up the Alphabettis to move to a new town. I’m already tired of the Showtime expansion pack, so I have plans to buy the Lunar Lakes mini-expansion.

(For one thing, the social component of Showtime seems to be broken for me. I can’t send any Sims out on tour because the game says they aren’t at a high enough skill level – even though they are. And when I click to host a Sim from everyone on my friends list, it seems to time out with no effect. It’s very frustrating.)

Before moving them out, I would like to complete Fern’s Lifetime Wish, which is to hit Level 10 Magician. She had to set aside her practice for the triplets, because it’s really hard to juggle both caring for children and climbing the career ladder, even if you have help at home. I’m sure none of you can relate.

You climb the career ladder as a Magician by performing individual tricks, doing gigs, and performing in public for tips. You can usually count on a few Sims wandering past the grocery store regardless of the hour, so that’s a good place to camp out and do a bit of magical busking.

I found the Best Outfit of the Week at Fern’s next gig in a private club.

Time for Fern to take the stage!

Luckily (because it is always funny), her nemesis Lourdes Solis is in the crowd. If you’ll recall, Fern stole Lourdes’ fiancee and had his baby, then cast him aside in favor of Brock the Club Owner.

I love having Fern perform the “disappearing box” trick with Lourdes!

“Oh, it’s you.”

“Yep.”

“Please step inside.”

“Tada! She’s gone!”

“And… now she’s back.”

“Why do you keep coming back?”

“Um, I mean, TADAAAA!”

I think everyone needs a nemesis, don’t you?

Meanwhile at home, little Girbitz Jr grew up into a hollow-chested, smirking teen.

I set him up with an awesome new outfit, but then I forgot to get a picture of it. Oh well.

Luckily the triplets finally grew up, too. And not a moment too soon. They were all so CRANKY.

I need to figure out how to get them all together for the same picture.

Fern leveled up again, and got a new magic trick: Appearing Item! This is a trick where your Sim magically causes a random item to appear. It’s pretty entertaining to see what they come up with.

I put all the creepy magician gnomes next to the pool. When I checked back a day later they had all vanished, wandering around the property. Ugh.

I’m glad to see Girbitz Jr. has inherited the Alphabetti Ugly Nose.

But of course now that I have decided to leave, I found The Ugliest Man In Starlight Shores.
