I just haven’t had much “oomph” left by the end of the day. But I don’t like to go a day without knitting. So I knit a single row, and call it good.
Here is two days of progress on the next OMG Sheeps afghan square.
In other news, I have a splinter in the bottom of my foot, in a location I can’t reach in any meaningful fashion. One of the vicious, fully-perpendicular kinds, too.
It’s making me, like Androcles’ pal, quite cross. I soaked it for quite a long time last night, but to no avail.
(It’s from my kitchen floor, if that gives you any sense of what the floors in this place are like. Technically they aren’t floors at all, but the thing the floor is supposed to rest upon.)

you need a good friend. I did always want to get to Seattle area
According to http://www.wikihow.com/Remove-a-Splinter-with-Baking-Soda, you can make a paste with baking soda and water, keep it bandaged for up to 24 hours, and then it should be dislodged enough to get it out. Also, baby orajel is good for numbing the area.
Not sure if either idea helps you if it’s in a difficult spot.
I can send you some cotton fabric that someone donated to me and you can knit carpet squares. Just enough to protect the feet! Or other parts of your body if you like to sit on the floor like I do.
Nothing ugly, just not my colors.
I think that’s called “Subflooring”, but I’m no expert. I think you need to find a friend who can pull your thorn and experience your eternal gratitude. Or what about your relatives nearby?
@Jennifer– I was just thinking it was a floor’s floor. When you put an actual flooring on it (carpet or linoleum or whatever) does it become the subfloor’s ceiling?
You can varnish or paint subfloor so that it is less likely to attack. In my case I wear birkenstocks inside alllllll the time:)
I always wear slippers – but I guess not always!
Impressive rogress! You’ll be done in no time.
Floors? Is that up to code?
Re: the splinter – put a little petroleum something (vaseline, neosporing, vaporub – something like that) and a bandaid over it. It’ll work itself out.
