I’m finally getting reasonably happy with the yarn I have been spinning up on the drop spindle. One key change was that I let the singles rest before plying them up. I’m pretty sure that part of the weird texture of the World’s Worst Scarf was due to plying everything up right away.
I sure am getting tired of this shade of teal! But I have so very much of it… turns out, an eight ounce ball of fiber takes a very long time to spin up. (But it was so cheap!)
New from Knit Picks: Small Cat! Some assembly required.

The new yarn looks great!
Ooooo! KnitPicks has cats now? Did they have any in a Tuxedos colorway? Must hunt up that last catalog…
Your yarn is looking terrific! And yes, 8 ounces is a lot. But 8 ounces of yarn isn’t a lot. I don’t know why that is.
You’re getting good at yarn making! It’s such a great feeling, isn’t it?!?
just add mew
I’m pretty sure that out in *the real world* the phrase “let the singles rest before plying them up” is a phrase that would garner odd looks and others slowly edging away from the speaker. Here, though, we nod wisely and think about how far you have come.
