Sims Sunday: Still Rockin’

(Reminder: the giveaway drawing for Sweet Shawlettes is open until Tuesday night. Leave a comment on that post to be entered to win a copy of the book!)

For the last days of her teen years, I took Coreopsis out of school and made her play the guitar for hours on end.

She played for tips at the cat park. Only netted a fraction of the take versus what she got at the dog park. Make of that what you will.

Finally she grew into a young adult. I spent a surprising amount of time choosing her outfit. I seriously spent like an hour on this. I just couldn’t make up my mind. I tried a lot of combinations of hair style and outfit, and finally settled on this little number.

Totally worth the time!

Shortly after snapping this picture, I sent her into the body remodulator. I admit it: I cheated. I made her thinner. I just couldn’t deal with exercising her AND getting her to succeed in her career.

She still needed to play the guitar a little bit more in order to reach Level 10. Here she’s playing it for tips, just ready to snag anyone leaving the bookstore. (That’s her work outfit, by the way. Level 2 in the Music career is “roadie.”)

Finally, Level 10 achieved! Doesn’t she look thrilled?

Guess not. Oh well, whatever. Time to work on that career!

The first thing she needed to improve was her relationship with her bandmates. She has four bandmates. I started inviting them over one by one.

Bandmate #1: Ramin Schulz.

It’s like a codger band! Bandmate #2: Cinnamon Alphabetti.

But hey, old people can be in rock bands, right?!

Well honey, if you didn’t want to get tired, maybe you shouldn’t be in a rock band. It’s only half past midnight, for pity’s sake!

  • Omg, I am laughing so hard right now. :D

I spent most of today wrangling a Sim, but in the end, I gave up on her. You’d inspired me to try The Clan challenge, and I ended up having to turn off my matriarch’s free will just to get her to take care of her first baby. I’m thinking I’ll try a different challenge next time.

  • Coreopsis and the Codgers. Catch their latest hit single “Grandpa Studmuffin Rocks Out”…

  • …and their hit single is backed with “Get Off My Lawn, You Kids!”

  • Gah, did I just admit my age there, by knowing that singles used to come “backed with” another song?

  • Erika

I know, right? I don’t think they even have singles anymore, it’s all just songs!

  • Well, obviously the Codgers would insist on a single. You know, from their album “Five Miles Uphill barefoot in the Snow (Both Ways).”

  • Erika

Watch for their album coming soon, “Music Today Is Just Noise (Not Like In My Day, That Was Real Music).”

  • Hey, just want to say, your Sims Sunday posts have inspired me, and I’ve taken up the random legacy challenge. I’ve even started a blog! http://fayeplus.blogspot.com/

I never knew how much fun Sims blogging could be, seeing new things, setting up screenshots, writing a loose story. (First roll: Mixed single, education career. ‘Why would my broke single parent teacher adopt?’ Answer: She doesn’t, a student abandons a baby at her door.) It’s really making me think, and care more about my sims.

    So, thanks! :D

Don’t they do that great Pink cover, “I’m Gettin’ Old (so you better get this party started)”? Or was it “V-I-AGRA in the USA”?

Laffing my ass off over my first cup of tea. Brilliant song and band names, you guys!

I bought Pets, but I can’t get my game to save my main Family into the Library, nor upload it, nor install the new pet-mode properties into their current town, so they can not haz pets! Waaah. All the new pre-loaded families in the new Pets Town are boringgggggg ….
