This week in Simming was pretty painful. For one thing, I felt like the game was on hold until some of the kids grew up (and I could make more). For another thing, it kept crashing, so I had to keep going back to the last save point and playing forward from there. It got so bad that I started saving every 12 Sim hours, at noon and midnight.
This morning I had a lightbulb moment, and updated Origin. I was then able to play for several hours without a crash. Coincidence? Hard to say.
Anyway! I started the week by hiring a butler to help out around the house.
I also learned that you have to keep up your relationship with the butler, or they may quit. I did not know this before. Which might explain why every time I’ve hired a butler in the past, one day they just… weren’t around any longer.
Chat it up, ladies. Become friendly, or the butler will quit, and you will have to make your own Key Lime Pie for breakfast!
All the kids grew up, and I sent them off to boarding school. This gets them out of the house, while still allowing them to age up on their own. It seriously cuts down on the chaos.
I remember how, when you did this in The Sims, there was a pretty good chance the baby would throw up on you.
Clarence grew into a child. Why do they go cross-eyed when they age up? It’s very unsettling.
From this angle, he reminds me of a young Roger Ebert.
And Crow grew up into a Little Miss Potato Head.
Stray animals keep appearing, each one uglier than the last. This is what happens when the game creates a dog at random, I guess.
Go away, ugly dog! We don’t want you!
You too, ugly staring cat! You are literally the color of garbage. Shoo! Scat!
There wasn’t much to do, once the kids were gone. Denise livened things up by peeing herself in the kitchen.
I love how she’s all, “Yuck! Who peed in here?”
Later that evening she was invited over to a neighbor’s house for a party.
Instead of going inside to socialize, she wanted to steal stuff instead, the little klepto!
Now that she and the butler are pals, they spend most of their spare time playing video games.
I could see the writing on the wall, so I set Butters to the chemistry set to learn how to make the Young Again potion. This potion sends them back to the beginning of the Young Adult life stage. They obviously aren’t going to be live long enough to have more kids otherwise.
I set up the chemistry set in the unused barn. And I placed a shower stall next to it, so that he can shower off when he explodes himself.
As he often does.
Basically I worked Butters half to death.
While Denise is living the life of luxury, tra la la!
Think of it this way – she has to carry and deliver all those babies! She has her work cut out for her.
