I sent Alec back to China, where his assignment was to spar with one particular person at the Martial Arts Academy. He had only just arrived when we received notice that another meteor was heading in! This time I was able to catch it on video. (Click here if you don’t see it below.)
That is one bad-luck martial arts academy! I’m having way too much fun to rebuild it. I wonder if another meteor will destroy the building?
But when he returns home from all his adventuring and meteor-dodging, I still make him change diapers.

Earlier this week I was talking to a friend about how I would like to make an afghan this winter. She offered to teach me how to crochet (which is a great way to make afghans) and then I remembered that there is a crocheted afghan in Sims 3. (You can find it in the recolor tool under fabrics, I believe it came with the Generations expansion pack.)
My immediate thought was “I should crochet that afghan!” But I couldn’t remember what it looked like, because I always recolor it.

Oh dear. I’m not sure I could deal with that, not even ironically. Maybe I’ll try to come up with some sort of Freezer Bunny afghan design.
Another milestone for me: I finally managed to get all the steps right to have one of my Sims record video so that they can watch it on their television. Here, they are watching video of little Butters learning how to walk.

Butters has not yet received an Imaginary Friend doll. I don’t think he’s going to, if he hasn’t already.

Back to adventuring. Zeneporting past giant boulders, since I haven’t gotten Pangu’s Axe yet. Zeneport is so handy! But the contents of that particular treasure chest totally weren’t worth the wait.

Mummy encounter!

They fought; Alec lost. But instead of being cursed, he was just knocked out. Too bad, since I’m kind of hoping to have him die of the mummy’s curse. Maybe next week.

“The floor is hot lava!”
Back at home, Butters is being read to sleep by grandma. Where’s daddy? He’s busy finding other gnomes and fighting mummies!

Gnome party in the front yard. I get weirded out when they all clump together like that. I worry that they’re organizing.

True fact: all Sims carry a pillow with them at all times, in case a complete stranger asks them to pillow fight.

Meanwhile, the Mine Monster lurks and waits.

(There’s one in Sunset Valley, too!)

I think the gnomes should all go have a pillow fight with the mine monster. As long as you can get some video…
Hot lava with plants growing in it?
I’m betting on a whole bunch of grues in that mine……
Grues and an axe-wielding troll in the mine…
I wonder if there’s any way to say “plugh” in Similese?
Good lord! I’d heard of the meteor strike happening but never seen it, ever. Yikes!
I especially love the afghan pattern in contrast with that fantabulous rug
