    Puppies and Drugstore Yarn

I had the bad judgment to wait until after feeding to try and photograph the puppies. Predictably, once their bellies were full, they fell fast asleep. And it’s a sucky, blurry picture, to boot! Apologies: on top of everything else, I have a cold, too. It’s a rough week.

It’s remarkable how much more mobile and interactive they become in just a week! When I open the door for their 5AM feeding, they all leap to their feet and rush the side of the whelping box nearest the door to greet me, little tails wagging, little eyes sparkling. It’s a pretty nice way to be greeted, I have to say.

Had to drive into town to pick up a few things, and hit Rite Aid while I was there. The one with the yarn! (The Rite Aid in Anacortes doesn’t carry yarn – too small, I guess. You have to go to the bigger Rite Aid in Mount Vernon.)

    Country Sage Sugar 'N Cream

It was $2.49 for a 56.7 gram ball (the smallest kind). Not the greatest price, in other words. And the supply was pretty picked-over. I got to use my “10% off” Rite Aid coupon on it, though, which felt like a victory.

Puppy stack! I hope you feel better soon.

    • I sometimes feel like that after a big meal, too 😉

    • Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. That is all.

    • I think I might explode looking at all that cuteness! I was on vacation recently and I discovered that the LYS that I was going to visit had closed down. I considered going to an Ace Hardware because it was rumoured to have yarn, but I resisted. I kinda regret it now!

Yarn at Ace Hardware! Ooh now I’ll have to check that out, too! I suspect it’s probably the same stuff they’re selling at Rite Aid – dishcloth cotton and Red Heart acrylic stuff, a.k.a. “little old lady yarn.”

But I like feeling as if I’m shopping at a general store in the Old West. Like I should also order a bolt of calico and a bag of horehound candy.
