Something In My Eye, Damn Allergies

I get a little sentimental this time of year, because the 18th is my blogiversary. It all started six years ago today.

It’s hard for me to even just glance at those old posts. Everything had gone so wrong in my life, and I had such a long hard road ahead of me before it started going right.

I started a blog out of a desperate need to reach out, and people reached back, and whaddaya know, I’m still here, and look at all of you! You have all helped me so much, and you don’t even know it, seriously. Thank you.

Selbuvotter mitten

Started the second mitten this weekend. Stopped when I got to the bit where you have to set the thumb aside, and cast on across the gap in pattern. Ucch.

spider plant

Spidey produced a new leaf over the weekend, bringing the total to nine. Still pitiful, though.

  • Happy blogiversary!
    May you celebrate many more!
With mittens. You can do it.

happy blogoversary Erika! I enjoy your blog so much! Plus, those mittens are excellent. I kinda don’t understand the appeal of *doing* stranded knitting, but the results are very pretty :)

Hey, it’s a two-way road! I was in a rough patch when you started too, and reading your blog made me happy and even inspired. Happy blogiversary.

  • Happy Blogaversary!! There aren’t too many people out there who’ve been at it this long, it’s cool (I started in 2006, not nearly as long as you).

Of course, now I have to ask — I did go back tot he beginning and your very first few posts mention Beaverton. As in Oregon? Because I grew up there (well, near there. Aloha.)

P.S. I’m still avidly following your Sims play. And still don’t play. I can’t get enough! :-)

P.P.S. Not that your knitting isn’t compelling, it is! And way way good (unlike mine, which is very very not good).

  • Why not just knit across in waste yarn, and then knit across again in pattern? Then you can kitchener the stitches in later. Sorry it’s three days later.
