I couldn’t resist a new Sims 3 Store item with “added functionality.” It’s a spellbook, where your Sim can learn five spells (just like the Makin’ Magic expansion pack for Sims 2. And by the way the moodlet is called “Makin’ Magic”).

Part of the reason I bought the spellbook was to keep me entertained while Bentley finished out the final grind before he could become immortal. But learning spells turned out to be boring (for the player) too.
Once your Sim learns a spell, you can send them out to make mischief. I tried the “Unleash Animale” spell first.

It gave everyone a particularly nasty negative moodlet (-65/12 hours). And periodically they would “unleash animale” which caused them to growl, pose, and wash their faces with their hands.

Fun!
Anyway. Back to the writing. (In his underwear, no less!)

His final task was to earn §30,000 in royalties, to complete the last Writing skill challenge. I wasn’t too worried about being able to complete it before he died of old age, but still – you never know.
Hey Grayson, everyone thinks you are too fat and lazy. Get to work!

Around this time, Khloe (who is a five-star celebrity) was sent a top-notch hot tub. You get awesome random gifts when you are a celebrity. I usually sell them for the cash, but this one was too good to pass up!
Here, Bentley reclines with his sweetie, Mendy Logan.

It’s a good way to counteract the stress of all that writing.
Within a few days Bentley hit his earnings target, and was allowed to eat Ambrosia!

(Again with the underwear!)
That night I invited Mendy over, and he proposed.

Speaking of romance, every few days Francisca’s ghost returns to the lot, and Grayson tries to woo her. Even though their relationship is listed as “fianceé” she always rejects his advances.

In preparation for the wedding, I gave Bentley a surprise treat. I colored his hair! Isn’t it convincing? Doesn’t it make him look younger? (Or like Ronald Reagan.)

And, yes, he is in his underwear again.
Wedding day! The Generations expansion pack includes a proper wedding arch so that you can have a nice ceremony.

The guests kept making this weird gesture, gripping their left wrist with their right hand.

I haven’t been to a wedding in a while. Is this, like, a thing? Here’s a better view.

(Side note: what is wrong with her face? She looks so fake and airbrushed. Creepy!)
After the wedding, they had wedding cake. This shot really shows off the bride and groom’s outfits. I chose “Fancy Dress” in the invitations, and this is what the game gave me.

Soon, Mendy was switching to her pregnancy outfit and mooning over her non-existent baby bump. Another Alphabetti is on the way!

Mendy had some funny cravings. She got a +350 point wish to “Eat Ice Cream and Spaghetti.”

How can you turn down a wish like that?

Later that night, she announced her pregnancy. Bentley gave her the traditional “thumbs up.”

I like to imagine doing this in real life, giving people the “thumbs up” when they tell you they’re pregnant. Wonder how it would go over?

Well, the wedding was a more successful party than usual – some guests actually showed up, and no one barfed or peed on the floor…
You mean not a crying baby, guests dying party? but i love those!
Mendy’s maternity wear is impossibly cute.
Wow, I thought you said that this challange was supposed to be hard? But you’re doing it so well!
Is that guest wearing the same top as the bride? FAUX PAS! (Love these!)
They’re so rude, aren’t they?!
