    Two Blog Stuffs

    1. I joined the BlogHer Network’s Book Reviewer program a little while back. My first review is about to go live! For these reviews, I’ll be posting a link here to the review on the BlogHer network.

    2. I’ve been fiddling a bit with the main page. About half of you subscribe with a feed reader, and won’t notice a difference. You’re free to go.

Those of you who visit this page directly will notice that I’ve rolled out a small implementation of “The Cut.” The Cut is also known as “More Inside.” It means that the entire post isn’t visible on the main page, you have to click a link to read the rest of it.

Two posts on this page have a cut. The one below this (“What I’m Not Knitting”) and the Sims Sunday post.

My question is, what do you think? Here’s a poll, so you can tell me anonymously!

Generally, I find cuts annoying if there’s not a lot of material after the cut (like on the post below this one.) That said, they would be GREAT for Sims Sunday, which always takes foreverrrr to scroll through if I’m trying to find the post below it.

That seems to be the prevailing opinion! That’s kind of what I had planned it for, anyway – because yeah, those Sims Sunday posts really do get long!

    • Yeah, generally I hate the cuts, but it’s not a bad idea for SS.

I only like that format for really high-volume news sites like Slashdot. For a blog like this that updates once or twice a day, I’d rather not have to make the extra click. I’d do it for Sims Sunday, though, and I won’t complain about it.

    • Oh, those cuts! I don’t mind them.

I see the cost of eggs are plummeting. And what’s Oxford doing with the serial comma? Did you just get the Twitter feed or am I just noticing it?

Generally speaking, I hate the things. But I enjoy your blog enough to click through to the full post. :)
