Sims Sunday: Romance! Is I Think The Polite Word.

I’m on the home stretch of the Crazy 8s Sims 3 challenge. At this point, it’s mainly about completing adventures on vacation and making special romantic friends.

First we have Leon Bates, a stylist in Bridgeport.

Next it was vampire and one-star celebrity Vladimir Schlick. Wilma hit on him by… talking about lightbulbs. Not sure what kind of a flirt that is, but it seemed to work.

Vladimir was handsome, and his eyebrows made me laugh. So I nominated him to be Wilma’s baby daddy, since it was time to start thinking about The Future.

Soon, Wilma was barfing like a champ.

I ran her around town collecting gems, even though her pregnancy outfit was basically a nightgown. Soon enough, it was baby time!

Over on the Splines blog, commenter Del had this hilarious suggestion for choosing band names: click the “Random Article” on Wikipedia. I though this would be a great way to choose baby names, too.

Unfortunately with baby names, you’re restricted to a measly 13 characters. So I kept clicking Random Article until I had two names that fit.

And so it is that I announce the birth of baby boy twins, motd (unix) and Ferris Wheel!

(Um, I forgot to get screenshots. You know what baby Sims look like by this point, I should think.)

What with Wilma’s growing collection of Things, and a challenge requirement to display some big stuff on the lot, and the sudden addition of two babies, I thought it was time for them to move out of the penthouse apartment. Their net worth has recently surpassed §1,000,000 which I thought was pretty exciting, and justified a fancy house.

Now THAT is a fancy house! And check out that amazing view!

I added a fourth story for displaying the collectibles. This snapshot makes it obvious that I didn’t choose a matching brick color. Oops.

Speaking of the collectibles, here’s what we’ve got so far. Five of eight crystal skulls, and seven of eight large ingots.

All eight specified beetles.

And all eight specified butterflies.

As a housewarming party, Wilma invited over romantic interest #4, Kara Blount.

Gosh, all that childbirth, it’s time for a vacation! Wilma went to France and picked up an adventure that was all about nectar making. Which is great, because the Nectary is my favorite location in France!

It has bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs so you can stay there overnight. You can make nectar in the big stills. Downstairs there’s some stuff to explore. And in your spare time, you can drink a lot of nectar!

Wilma has become a three-star celebrity, through no deliberate action on my part. One side effect of being a celebrity is that the paparazzi constantly show up and take pictures.

Very unsettling when they break into her room and take pictures of her while she sleeps, though.

While waiting for a batch of nectar to finish, Wilma wandered into the town’s central courtyard. There she met Lea Dutiel. They hit it off quite well.

But unlike everyone else she’s hit on so far, Wilma fell completely head-over-heels for Lea. I noticed that after their first meeting – they hadn’t even kissed by then – Wilma had a heart beside Lea’s picture on her relationship panel. She was in wuuuuuuv!

After they spent their first night together, Wilma began randomly thinking about weddings. Coincidence? I think not!
