Mega-Dishcloth

I’ll set aside all the back-and-forth about how I was going to do this one project, but I don’t have the needles for it, and then I was going to do this other project, but it turns out that I need more of that one color, and then I was getting in some good work on that project over there but one of my cats threw up on the chart and I haven’t had a chance to print out a new one.

You know how it goes sometimes.

Anyway, I’ve been plunking along on this project for a few weeks now. It’s good mindless knitting, perfect for picking up and putting down throughout the day.

euroflax sportweight linen

This is an exfoliating face cloth, in Euroflax Sportweight Linen. Basically, a very large dishcloth in a fancy yarn.

(Euroflax Linen is a lot easier to use if you run it through the laundry a few times first!)

  • Love the face cloths. Linen, hemp and cotton are my faves, though I hear some folks use superwash wool. (I’ll have to try that someday…) Use one as wrapping paper for an artisan soap and it’s a gift. Put three in a basket with a few more bath products and it’s an extravaganza! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Exfoliating, yes…
I’ve heard that about linen yarn. Is it exfoliating your hands as you knit?

I don’t know about superwash wool… I’ve heard of people using it for face cloths, too, but it just seems wrong somehow!

Gayle, It is a bit, yeah! Even after washing it a few times, it’s still not the greatest thing to knit with. But after knitting all those dishcloths out of dishcloth cotton, I can say that this is a nicer yarn to knit with!

  • Cool! I might have to think about making one of those.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
