If you were watching my Twitter stream on Saturday, you would have been treated to a series of incredibly bad cameraphone pictures. I will say this: it is very hard to take pictures of a parade when you’re actually IN it. Particularly if you’re wrangling a very large puppy, who wants to snatch the candy out of the hands of the children rushing out to pet him.
After recovering that afternoon, I went out and spent several hours putting together a frame for the first, smallish, temporary chicken tractor. (The second, larger, long-term chicken tractor is scheduled for completion in August.)
And there it sat all day Sunday, while water poured down from the sky, and I avoided thinking about how far behind I am on this project. (I ventured out later to poke the tarp with a stick from underneath. The puddle of water was threatening to rip the tarp right off the frame.)
Look! Knitting!
But let’s be honest. No one cares about my knitting at this point.*
Dolly has Dinosaur Feet. Well, they all do, but Dolly’s strike me as being particularly dinosaur-y.
* Just you wait. About, mm, 10 more days, give or take. Just you wait and see.
And that is why I fear birds. They’re really tiny man eating dinosaurs.

just took delivery yesterday of Fred and Ethel who are baby – well teenagers I guess – Guinea fowl … there won’t be any cute chook photos from this pair. Man they are U-G-L-Y
