I was finally able to invite Youssef over to the home lot. I think we had to wait for him to go back to his home country (Egypt) before he could be invited over. Who knows.
Their ardor had not cooled during the break.
Woo hoo!
Youssef spent the night. The next day, Pelikan proposed to him on the back porch. He accepted.
They had their wedding that afternoon. Through some weird timing, they ended up exchanging vows in the tiny bathroom. After Youssef had peed his pants. How romantic.
Now we come to the boring part. Pelikan’s Lifetime Wish was to become a martial arts master. This meant that she had to keep traveling to China, in order to challenge the next ranked opponent, in order to climb to level 5.
Each visit to China was 3 Sim Days. Each time you come home after a trip, you have to wait 2 days before going on another one. It took five visits to China in order to complete her Lifetime Wish.
With all this time she was spending at the martial arts academy, I decided to have her pitch her tent right there. Saves the commute time.
Luckily, the advent of World Adventures puts us back to the original timeline scenario. I call it a “Narnia problem.” The time she spends in China doesn’t age her, and when she gets home, no time has passed. This means that I was able to fulfill her Lifetime Wish before she grew from a Young Adult to a Mature Adult, which was my goal.
I also got a lot of knitting done while she was sparring, waiting for the next opponent to show up, sleeping, or at home killing 2 days before heading out again.
ANYWAY. After her last visit, she went straight home and got knocked up.
At around this time, I started having trouble with the game. It pauses every time the Sim clock hits :07 or :09. 9:07, 9:17, 9:29, and so forth. Maddening!
Sometimes a lot or a house will get glitchy. In an attempt to escape the problem, I moved Pelikan and Youssef out to the only house they could afford.
The house came pre-furnished. I AM IN LOVE!
A pregnant neighbor lady stopped by to welcome them to the neighborhood. Youssef was entranced by her pregnant belly, and insisted on listening to the baby repeatedly. It was a little weird.
Meanwhile, Pelikan was in a happy pregnancy trance.
Unfortunately, moving to a new lot actually made the gameplay problem worse. Which is a little frustrating…!

The look on his face as he listens to the baby is cracking me up. Future Daddy is excited about babies now apparently? Hope your glitch clears up, glitchy gameplay sucks!
How the heck are they gonna drink all that wine in their lifetime if she’s pregnant?! Have a party!
That couch? Awesome. That tv/thingy? Even more Awesome. Is it wrong to be jealous of a virtual person’s possessions? Probably. And yet, there it is.
That looks like a Predicta TV.
Is that an unfinished Klango I spy in the (bathroom) wedding picture?
