Sims Sunday: Under Construction

I spent most of my allotted gameplay time this week working on their house. It’s a big project. I had to keep taking construction breaks to make them go earn more money, so I could (e.g.) finish the line of azalea bushes.

Klango has been doing his part by churning out painting after painting. This is what I got when I told him to “paint from memory.” I think it’s the American Gods-esque half-sunken car from the canal.

Later he painted something ridiculously conventional (for him).

I decided to finish the exterior of the house before working on the interior. This meant they spent a lot of time in the dark. Reading at the kitchen table in the dark…

Learning how to walk in the dark…

Staring wistfully out the window in the dark…

You get the idea.

Pascal wanted to join the Music career track, and I was happy to oblige.

He’s being kind of a jerk, though. “Man, that crying baby really distracts me from playing my guitar! I sure wish someone would do something about it!”

By the time I was done for the night, the house was coming along nicely.

Azalea bushes and all.

  • I thought of you when I was reading MLIA: “Today, my younger sister and I had a ‘who can make the better family’ contest on our Sims 3 game. She made the cullen family, and I made the Potter family. Edward died because he couldn’t figure out how to get out of the pool. I think we can figure out who won. MLIA”

  • Very nice yet simple-looking front yard.

I did get TS2 to load finally and I started a legacy house. I got her to marry an elder Townie and got her knocked up immediately so I can have the kid and get knocked up a 2nd time if it’s a boy to try for a girl in case Daddy kicks it.

I wanted her to marry Mortimer, but he’s been hiding. I think I’m going to have to play him to snag her after Leon dies so I can get his house and all his money.

OK, maybe I’m not playing the legacy game exactly. Legacy Gold Digger, perhaps?

  • Imagine if that’s how life really worked and as you go on living in your house, things–like, say, lighting and azalea bushes–just kept suddenly appearing.

  • Happy 2010! I have a lot to catch up on your blog! Hope you’re having a great year.

Are those front posts holding up anything?

  • Hey, who needs lighting when they have such nice azalea bushes to look at?
Klango is such a trooper to pitch in and paint faster in order to support the family…
