Sims Sunday: Careless Whisper

I’m a little irked at the way I have to find things out second-hand. Apparently Gerry died, which I only learned because I invited Isabeau to Kana’s birthday party.

Kana’s party was a record-breaker, by the way! One guest died, and Jerboa’s third baby (named Kinkajou, at Catu’s request) was born. But the guests only rated it a “modest success.” WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO PLEASE THEM.

I had invited Wesley to Kana’s party, but they never got around to any hanky panky. In the meantime, I started trying to kill off Kory.

It’s not easy to kill Sims in The Sims 3! I’ve made him repair every broken electrical item, and I even sent him into the catacombs, to no avail.

I waited until Kory went to work, and invited Wesley over. “I thought you’d like to meet your daughter! She has my hair color and your skin tone. That’s normal, right?”

They kissed in the back yard, and suddenly the entire household knew of Jerboa’s betrayal. Kana came out and yelled at them, but when Kory came out, he just sort of stood there. Wesley got a little weirded out by the scene, and left right after this was taken.

I was surprised at how little happened. It was very civilized. Aside from everyone’s nasty mood, there was very little difference from before. Although Kory opted to sleep on the couch, rather than share Jerboa’s bed.

The next day, things finally came to a head. Jerboa walked out to the converted garage and started picking on Kory. He retaliated by mocking her vegetarianism.

She made things worse by trying to hug him, which creeped Cory right out.

And then they broke up. (Divorce in the Sims world involves clicking on your partner and choosing Mean -> Break Up. Very simple.) Everyone in the family was badly upset by this.

Kory and Kana had always gotten along well together, so I sent the two of them off to a new house together. This left Jerboa in the house with Klango and toddler Kinkajou.

Klango and Jerboa are NOT getting along. They bicker constantly. According to his Relationship panel, Klango hates her more than anyone he knows, even Death.

I invited Wesley over, and Jerboa asked him to leave his wife Willow. He politely refused.

Jerboa decided it was time to get in shape.

I invited both Wesley and Kory to Klango’s birthday party, but Wesley didn’t show. Bummer!

On a whim, I put Klango in this ridiculous outfit. This outfit was also available in Sims 2, and I’ve passed over it every time I outfitted a male Sim. Finally I decided that it was time to bring it out!

I don’t even know what it’s supposed to be. It’s like “Motocross Racer” meets “Hot Topic.”

Now that Klango was a young adult, I decided that the first thing he’d want to do is move out of the house he shares with his estranged mother. I bought him an empty lot on the opposite side of town. Unfortunately after buying the lot, there was only this much money left over.

But it’s a lovely remote location, just the thing for a bookworm with a Lifetime Wish to reach level 10 Logic.

And it’s right next to the river – handy for fishing!
