Hey, do what you gotta do! Half the fun of knitting is getting it just right, even if you have to frog it 8 times. The satisfaction is worth it!

It’s a freeing feeling for me. A reblanked slate…aaaah.

My mom gave up the knitting because of the frogging…not in her nature…must leave the room if she sees me doing anything more than going back a few stitches…

Sometimes we need to make a fearless inventory and do what we need to do. I’m proud of you.

I had to do the same thing to a sock that was definitely going to be too small. I had the entire leg done, even though I knew after an inch or so, that it wasn’t going to fit. I told myself I would sell them on etsy if I couldn’t have them myself, but I love making socks for me and couldn’t do it.

Maybe we need to develop one of those plastic bracelets – Knit Strong.

You did what you had to do. Coincidentally I am making an almost identical hat for #1 son for Christmas and am ready to knit the final half-dozen rows later today. But mine is sock yarn on US#2 needles and has a pattern to follow. The pattern has me decrease exactly the way you are going to — make the cables get narrower, make the purl columns disappear.
